SEG took part in the Russian-Chinese Legal Congress
On December 4, 2024, in Moscow, Alexander Popov, CEO of the SEG Group of Companies, Nina Ledeneva, Chairman of the Moscow Bar Association SEG, and Andrey Medvedev, Commercial Director of SEG, took part in the Russian-Chinese Legal Congress organized by the Russian-Chinese Chamber, Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, the Union of Chinese Entrepreneurs in Russia and the Russian-Chinese Guild Commerce (SOVED).
The congress was attended by representatives of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, Moscow State University, leading Russian legal practitioners, as well as representatives of the Chinese law firm DHH (the Russian practice of DeHeng Law Group, a leading Chinese law firm founded in 1993).
An expert working group on the following issues was formed at the ceremony:
• Creation of a permanent Russian-Chinese arbitration court;
• development of proposals to support entrepreneurship in the two countries;
• facilitating the agreement of the Governments of Russia and China on the "Arbitration Clause", which will primarily contribute to the pre-trial process (mediation);
• development of optimal algorithms for resolving disputes in courts and the implementation of court decisions;
• legal support for certification processes, investment design, and interaction with other BRICS+ countries.
In addition, within the framework of the congress, the SEG leadership held important negotiations and reached agreements on cooperation in the expert and business community.
